Open Positions

  • Purpose:

    Assist in building valued financial relationships with our members by assisting them with their accounts while providing outstanding professional service. Perform limited transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with a high degree of accuracy. Maintain accurate transactional records, providing basic cash receipt and payment services in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional, and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions.

    • Receive checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records.

    • Cash checks and process withdrawals; pay out money after verification of signatures and member balances. Place check holds on accounts for uncollected funds.

    • Maintain an up-to-date comprehensive knowledge of all credit union products and services.

    • Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of all related products and procedures, rules, and regulations. (Fraud prevention and robbery procedures.)

    • Receive mortgage, consumer loan, and other payments, and ensure the payments match balances due. Enter payments into the computer and generate member receipts.

    • Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totaled amounts to a computer-generated proof sheet. Research and resolve discrepancies.

    • Ensure that all credit union members and employee-related businesses are kept in the strictest confidence.

    • Ability to create and maintain a positive and personable environment for member and employee interaction.

    Skills

    • Must be able to count, check, and package coins and currency

    • Detail oriented

    • Knowledge of online banking, debit/credit cards, and cashier’s checks.

    Additional Functions

    • Attending meetings, training courses, conferences, and seminars.

    • Perform clerical support duties as necessary.

    • Assist in other departments as necessary.

    Job Specifications

    • Requires completion of high school education.

    • Prior work experience in cash handling, customer service, or a related position.

    • Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products and services.

    • A positive, professional image and a high degree of confidentiality within the workplace.

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to meet the physical capacity requirements of this position, such as sitting, talking, hearing, speaking, and the ability to stand for long periods of time.

    • This position primarily consists of sedentary work within an office environment and the ability to move about inside the office.

    • This position must be able to use basic office machinery such as a computer, calculator, filing cabinets, copy machine, etc.
